In the past few days we’ve unpacked the knits and boots, and said a fond farewell to the shorts and flipflops that served us well all summer.
It sees, however, that the summer weather is making a happy return for one final hurrah, so we’ll happily be pulling those bags back down from the attic.
According to The Irish Independent, temperatures will return to the high teens and early 20s this weekend, with the fine spell potentially lasting into the middle of the next week.
“It’s good news. It looks like the weekend is going to be lovely,” RTÉ weather forecaster Evelyn Cusack told the newspaper.
“Sunday should be fine, pleasant with light winds and the temperatures will be as high as 20 degrees.
“The start of next week looks pleasant too, there is some fine autumn weather on the way.”
It’s happy news for those of us already saddened by the chill in the air and the absence of the sun, and even more so for the GAA fans planning on a pilgrimage to Croker this weekend.
Better start dusting off that barbeque…
