After being formally charged earlier this week, Michaela McCollum Connolly and Melissa Reid have now been refused bail.
According to reports this morning Judge Dilo Huaman remanded the pair in custody after rejecting their pleas for bail last night.

The pair were remanded in custody after their bail pleas were rejected.
The women, both 20 years of age, could spend up to three years in prison awaiting trail and a further 15 years if convicted of illegal drugs trafficking.
On Tuesday Ms McCollum Connolly and Ms Reid were formally charged with the promotion of drug trafficking.
Drugs were found inside dried food packages in their luggage.
Two weeks ago they were arrested on suspicion of drugs trafficking after cocaine was found in their luggage at Lima airport.
They claimed that they were forced to do it by armed Colombian criminals who threatened both them and their families.
