It’s a serious perk of the job here at Her.ie towers that we get to try and test some of the latest and greatest beauty releases and call it work. Lucky us. Here is a heads up on three products that got a communal thumbs up from the team in the week that was…

Baby Lips, €3.99 from Maybelline New York
Somewhat dodgy name aside, Team Her.ie are very taken with this new release from Maybelline. The collection of six flavoured lip balms had us reminiscing for those golden J1 day in the states and purchasing colourful Lip Smackers from the local Duane Reade. Already a hit in the US, the collection includes three clear and three tinted balms, each with their own distinctive scent.
The clear balms include Hydrate, with a lemon and basil scent,
Mint, (you can probably guess the scent?), and Intense Care, which has a cherry and almond scent. All three boast an SPF of 20.
The tinted balms include Pink Punch, a soft pink balm with a passionfruit scent, Cherry Me, a red balm with a cherry flavor, and Peach Kiss, a pale peach shade with a scent to match.
All six balms contain shea butter to leave your lips feeling moisturised and soft as a baby’s bum, while centella works to plump the lips with moisture. For less than a fiver we're most impressed.

Extraordinary Oil Mist, €14.99, from L’Oréal Paris
This hair oil is something a little different, in that it is designed specifically for fine hair. Those of us who have fine hair might have shied away from oils in the past, as they can weigh down the hair and leave it looking greasy. This lightweight dry oil mist, however, leaves hair looking shiny and soft, not oily and dull. Enriched with lotus flower extract to nourish and protect your crowning glory. Use as a pre shampoo, a weekly treatment or the finish touch to your styling routine.
Tough Stuff, €2.99, from Cocoa Brown
When it comes to tanning we’re big advocates of faking not frying. Protect your skin from the sun, but if you really want that golden glow, use the bottle form. Of course, the only problem is removing it afterwards. If you’ve ever scrubbed to the point of nearly drawing blood at patchy tan, you’ll understand. Now though, Irish tanning brand Cocoa Brown have an addition to their range that could solve that problem. Marissa Carter, the brains behind the highly rated self-tanner, has created Tough Stuff Tan Removing Scrub, perfect for the rough areas of the body where tan goes wronng: feet, ankles, elbows and hands. This scrub will remove old tan, prep your skin, and leave you silky smooth. Ready for the next application then…
