Four military search planes have been dispatched to investigate two large objects spotted off the south coast of Australia.
It is believed that the two pieces of debris, one of which has a dimension of 25 metres, could belong to the missing Malaysia Airlines plane which disappeared on March 8th.
The objects, which are said to be moving up and down over the surface of a remote part of the Indian Ocean, were detected by satellite imagery.
John Young, the manager of the Australian Maritime Safety Authority’s emergency response division, is quoted by the Associated Press as saying: “This is a lead, it’s probably the best lead we have right now.”
He added that the debris, which experts say are "credible sightings", could also be from cargo vessels which travel along a shipping route in that area.
The Australian government released an image of the search area.
