According to Express.co.uk, Robert Lacey, a royal biographer, this is the case with him saying:
"Yes, I've heard that is how he will sometimes refer to her".As for the origin of the nickname, it's believed to come from a French phrase, none other than "mon petit chou" which translates to "my little cabbage" or my sweetheart, you get the idea. So there you go, an endearing, sweet nickname although we can't help but giggle all the same.
