Irish Love Island contestants have been among some of the most popular and most successful in recent years, with Maura Higgins, Greg O'Shea, Yewande Biala, Dami Hope, and Jack Keating quickly becoming fan favourites during their stints on the series, and it looks like another Irish contestant will be winning over audiences this summer.
According to The Sun UK, Irish influencer Charleen Murphy is reportedly signed up for this year's series.
An insider said now is the perfect time for the Irish influencer to take part, especially after her relationship with Dano Mandroiu ended. The Irish influencer and footballer were together for four years, but ended things earlier this year.
An insider told The Sun UK:
“Charleen split from her boyfriend earlier this year, and Lucinda [Strafford] told ITV bosses they should get her on the show.”
“She’s really gorgeous and fun and has a lot of Irish charm – she’s been friends with Lucinda for years, so of course Lucinda would put a word in for her!”
Charleen previously auditioned for the show in 2020, but never made it to the live show.
She told Evoke, "I got through two rounds; there are quite a few. I was flown to England for the auditions, and I just wasn’t chosen."
Charleen has not yet commented on the speculation, but fans of the Irish influencer are hoping the rumours are true.
Would you like to see the Irish influencer take part in this year's Love Island? The series is expected to kick off in June, so we don't have too long to wait.
Charleen Murphy would be an incredible addition the cast so we're crossing our fingers that the rumours are true.
