Laura Whitmore has reportedly had a secret meeting with ITV about presenting winter Love Island. 

The news comes hours after Caroline Flack announced she would be stepping aside for season 6 of the reality TV series after being charged with assault last week. The Sun report that Laura has already spoken to Love Island bosses about possibly taking on the role. “It’s an amazing job, every TV presenter in Britain wants it, so of course Laura was open to speaking to bosses about it," an insider told the publication. “She’s already had a chat about it – as soon as Caroline quit, they needed to sign someone up ASAP. Laura already knows the production crew from when she goes out to visit Iain on location, and bosses from her previous jobs on ITV.” ITV did not have a comment on the story. The reports come hours after Caroline Flack confirmed that she is quitting Love Island.  The presenter, who has been a part of the show since it returned to ITV in 2015, said that she has decided to "stand down" from the upcoming series. She took to Instagram on Tuesday morning to confirm the news. "There have been a significant number of media reports and allegations in regards to my personal life," she said. "While matters were not as have been reported, I am committed to cooperating with the appropriate authorities and I can’t comment further on these matters until the legal process is over."
