Critically acclaimed director Tim Burton is bringing new life to the characters originally created by cartoonist Charles Addams.
Wednesday was first introduced as a character back in 1938 in the original cartoons for the New Yorker, but didn't have a name.
The family were all given names when the 1964 TV series came to life.
Confirming the exciting news in a tweet, Netflix wrote: "Our Addams family is expanding! Catherine Zeta-Jones will step into the iconic silhouette of Morticia Addams while Luis Guzmán will bring to life the debonair Gomez Addams in the upcoming TV series Wednesday, starring Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams and directed by Tim Burton."

Fans went nuts over this casting choice as while it was unexpected, they couldn't have thought of a better fit.
One said: "Catherine Zeta-Jones will absolutely kill it as Morticia Addams."
Another said: "okay but CATHERINE ZETA-JONES as Morticia Addams!!!!!! this is actually perfect casting!"
A third added: "It begins. The Catherine Zeta-Jones renaissance."
There is no set date for when the series will be released, but it's definitely one to keep an eye out for.Explore more on these topics:
