Brian Ormond issues update after undergoing surgery

Brian Ormond shared an update with his followers

The dad underwent back surgery over the weekend but said he is now home with his family.

Brian took the time to praise the medical staff who cared for him following his operation.

Writing on Instagram, the Irish presenter said it was a tough weekend, but he's grateful for all the staff at the Mater Private Hospital.

"Tough weekend, but a massive thank you to all the staff at the MaterPrivate hospital for looking after me so well with my back surgery."

Ormond also praised his wife, Pippa O'Connor, who is now taking care of him.

“Looking forward to heading home to the best nurse now," he added

Pippa also shared an update on her husband's surgery and said things had gone from "bad to worse" before his operation.

She told her followers:

"Poor Brian is in hospital. He will be fine, but unfortunately he had to have back surgery of all things. This just kind of went from bad to worse, and he needed to get it done. He actually needed to get it done ages ago.

"It was done on Friday so the weekend consisted of football matches and hospital visits."
