Are you Ireland’s top young entrepreneur? Maybe you’ve got the idea but need the investment? Ireland’s Best Young Entrepreneur competition deadline is fast approaching, where Irish entrepreneurs under the age of 30 have until July 31st to apply for a chance to win a “game changing” investment.
Open to Irish entrepreneurs
aged 30 or under, three categories will be judged at the county stage of the competition: ‘Best New Idea’; Best Start-up Business’ (under 18 months) and ‘Best Established Business with new add-on’ (over 18 months). An overall County ‘Best Young Entrepreneur’ will also be announced.
Speaking at the final call for entries, Oisin Geoghegan, Head of the Fingal Local Enterprise Office is encouraging those under thirty and with a good business idea or established business, to enter the competition before the end of the month:
“There will be 93 businesses and business ideas selected throughout the country, sharing €1.55 million in investment. 62 will receive a grant award of €20,000 and 31 will receive €10,000. From these finalists, overall National winners will receive a further €100,000 investment fund, which can become ‘game-changing’ for a small business.
“Importantly, each of the finalists around the country will also benefit from a management bootcamp and mentoring support, as part of the overall €2 million competition fund.”
Applicants who make it to the county level will take part in business bootcamps and mentoring programmes, with winners progressing to the national level competing for the title of Ireland’s Best Young Entrepreneur.
