Diamonds are super expensive and we're more aware than ever of how ethical murky the sourcing of these gems can be.
Add to that the growing preference for alternative engagement rings and it looks like diamonds rings just don't have the same shine as they once did.
The latest trend replacing them?
Turquoise engagement rings.
We reckon this is one that'll especially appeal to brides-to-be with boho tastes – the striking blue colour stands out and has plenty of character.
Lots of the most popular styles of ring also feature diamonds, bringing older and modern styles together.
Turquoise looks stunning set against both gold and silver so you can be sure to get one that's perfect for you no matter your preference.
It's also the birthstone for December, meaning a turquoise ring will have extra significance for brides born at this time of year.
