Legendary fashion designer Thierry Mugler has passed away, aged 73. His death was confirmed via his Instagram page on Sunday. An image of a black square was posted alongside the caption: "#RIP We are devastated to announce the passing of Mr Manfred Thierry Mugler on Sunday January 23rd 2022. May his soul Rest In Peace." The Mugler official Instagram page also wrote: "It is with deep sadness that the House of Mugler announces the passing of Mr Manfred Thierry Mugler. https://www.instagram.com/p/CZF50kKNsQk/ "A visionary whose imagination as a couturier, perfumer and image-maker empowered people around the world to be bolder and dream bigger every day." Mugler was well known for dressing countless high-profile celebrities over the years including Madonna, Lady Gaga, Cardi B, and David Bowie. He launched his brand in 1973 and rose to fame for his unique and futuristic designs. He also started his line of bestselling perfumes, featuring Alien and Angel, in the late '90s. Beyoncé paid tribute to the icon with an image shared to her website alongside the words: "Rest in Peace." Designer Christian Siriano wrote: "Another icon lost today. Rest well in ultimate beauty Thierry Mugler. You opened many many doors. Fashion is having a hard month." Georgia May Jagger, who was the face his fragrance 'Angel' in 2014, said: "I cannot believe this is true sending love to you all. Thierry was a force of creativity and kindness."
