Decent enough news on the weather front.

Storm Lola is set to bring high temperatures to Ireland this weekend - and thank god for that. The storm, which would generally send any wind and rain fearing gal into sheer panic, is en route from Portugal this weekend, triggering a substantial temperature swing across the country. Lola's strong winds will be all over the Azores Islands today, eventually pushing some much needed high pressure over to the UK and Ireland for some seriously good weather. For the past few days, temperatures across Ireland have been questionable enough with cloudy skies and chilly winds making it hard to believe that we were all scorched to bits this time last year. https://twitter.com/MetEireann/status/1384884292522856452?s=20 Alas, it appears as though the good weather may finally be on its way to us. Met Éireann confirmed the news on Twitter, saying: "Today’s Analysis: Of particular note, Storm Lola named by the Portuguese Met Service which will give strong winds over the Azores Islands tomorrow. "Closer to home, High Pressure which will block the advance of Atlantic low pressure over us for the next several days." Delightful. This news comes after Met Éireann's meteorologist Siobhán Ryan told our friends at JOE that "good sunshine" will be here to stay right out until the end of the week and even into the early days of next week, and that temperatures as high as 18 degrees are expected in Connaught this weekend. She said: "The weather looks nice and settled out to the end of the weekend. [It will be] dry, practically, country-wide. The winds look light." Despite this, Ryan did add that different parts of the country will see different temperatures. "The mildest temperatures are definitely going to be in the west with Connacht probably getting up to 16, 17, 18 degrees there some of the days," she explained. "But for Dublin, temperatures are more capped at around 12 or 13 degrees most of the days ahead."
