Multiple people have died and others have been left injured after a road collision in Dundalk, County Louth.
Gardaí are investigating the scene of a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the Ardee Road, last night, Saturday November 15, shortly after 9pm.
The two-vehicle crash occurred on the L3168 in the townland of Gibstown, Dundalk, with Gardaí reporting 'a number' of fatalities.
Additionally, a number of people have been taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda.
Gardaí, the vehicles and bodies of the deceased all remained at scene as of 8am this morning, Sunday November 16, and the L3168 remained closed between the N52 and the R171.
The road is being preserved ahead of a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, and local traffic diversions are in place.
In a statement, Gardaí said: "Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.
"Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were traveling on the L3168, Ardee Road, Dundalk, Co. Louth between 8.30pm and 9.15pm on the night of Saturday 15th November, 2025 are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
"Anyone with information is asked to contact Dundalk Garda Station on 042 938 8400, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station."
