You might think that modern cars are safe with their inbuilt protections against hot-wiring and alarm systems but the truth is they’re not.
A growing trend among car thieves is to steal the car key from a house or handbag and drive off in the vehicle instead.
But there is something you can install in your car to protect against this and that is a key theft protection device.
This stops a thief from driving off in your car even with the key and while it is pricey, it could end up saving you spending a lot more money on a brand new car.
Our pick of the bunch is the ICE Key Theft Protection Device (supplied and installed from €250.00 including VAT).
A unique security device will be installed on the dash of your car along with a separate immobiliser and a neat key pad.
The vehicle will only start when a personal code, picked by the customer, is entered into the key pad which means the car key will not be sufficient to drive the car.
There are extras available with this device including alarm with interior siren and hazard warning light system.
We would advise you to consult an expert when purchasing your key theft protection device as not all of them will be compatible with your vehicle model.
