Mobile telephones have become such a huge part of modern life that it’s pretty much impossible to leave the house without one.
But if you’re out in the car, the law forbids you from using your telephone and quite rightly so because calling or texting while in control of a vehicle can and does cost lives.
There are two solutions to this problem: ignoring your phone completely or investing in a hands-free car kit.

This gadget might not enable you to text but it will allow you to accept and make calls without taking your hands off the steering wheel or your eyes off the road.
And there are a number of different options including voice activation, Bluetooth and wireless earpieces which mean you are guaranteed to find something to suit your requirement.
Almost every model of phone is catered for and some of the hands-free kits cost less than €50 which really is a small price to pay to ensure your own safety and those of the other road users.

Our pick of the bunch is the Parrot CK3000 Hands-free Bluetooth car kit which costs around €79.99.
Not only does this device pick up your mobile from your handbag, once installed, but it uses your car’s speakers to transmit your conversation. Noise and echo reduction are another benefit of this model which is compatible with most phones.
We would advise you to consult an expert when purchasing your hands-free kit as not all of them will cater for your needs and some will require extra parts.
