So far, Storm Frank has caused floods, winds and burst banks across the country – and now it’s taking over the skies as well.
Dublin Airport has watched a series of flights battle against the elements today, including this attempt from Ryanair to land.
Sent in to our brothers over at
JOE.ie, Pat O’Regan caught footage on the ground in Swords, where the Ryanair flight had to abandon its landing due to the severe winds at 1.15pm.
Speaking to JOE.ie, Pat told the team that Gardai eventually moved crowds from the area where he filmed the plane’s attempts to touch down in Dublin. He had witnessed eight other similar incidents where aircraft were seen battling the elements in an attempt to land. Tweeting from their official account, Dublin Airport revealed that they had three flight diversions before midday today – with disruptions to the flight schedule due to severe wind conditions.
Passengers planning on catching a flight today are being advised to check with their airline before making their way to the airport for any
delays to their service.
