Sunway has announced that it has suspended all flights to Tunisia following the recent terrorist attack on the country.
Three Irish citizens were killed when a gunman, believed to be acting on behalf of terrorist group ISIS, launched an attack on a beach resort in Sousse last week.
The travel operator has now released a statement confirming that it will be cancelling its weekly flight schedule to Monastir from this Friday and extended its sympathies to the families affected by the recent tragedy.
“Due to the current uncertain situation in Tunisia, Sunway have decided to suspend the weekly flight schedule to Monastir from this Friday July 3
rd until the situation is clarified. Our return flight on Friday July 3
rd from Monastir to Dublin will go ahead as scheduled. We have not taken this decision lightly but believe it to be in the best interests of our customers.”

Sunway has said that it while it appreciate that the news would be a disappointment to its customers, it is offering a full refund or an alternative Sunway holiday to those booked to travel to the destination.
