You know those friends on Snapchat who will never stop talking selfies at the most inappropriate places, at the most unnecessary times, doing the stupidest things? Stop making fun of them because they might have an actual problem.
At least it was for 19-year-old Danny Bowman. He spent 10 hours taking photos of himself on his iPhone - every.single.day. He even dropped out of school and stayed at home for the last six months because it got so addictive.
“I was constantly in search of taking the perfect selfie and when I realized I couldn’t, I wanted to die,” Bowman told the Daily Mirror. “I lost my friends, my education, my health and almost my life.”
The teenager even was considering taking his own life because he was never satisfied with his photographs, but his mother was able to help him out of the situation. Although his condition is extreme, psychiatrists are beginning to consider that "selfie addiction" could be a real thing.
Maybe we should all just stop taking pictures of our faces and concentrate on documenting the important things in life, like food. #instayum
