Alcohol can't solve your problems, but it saved this dog's life.
Charlie, a Maltese Terrier, was hours away from his death when Australian vets saved his life by thinking outside the box.
Charlie had licked some coolant in his owner Jacinta Rosewarne’s garage and was rushed to the hospital. The pup was suffering from kidney failure but quick-thinking vets decided that tube-feeding Charlie some Vodka could help.
Vets at Animal Accident and Emergency said on their
blog: "Charlie had a tube placed through his nose to his stomach. Over about 48 hours, he was given successive doses of alcohol. The easiest form of alcohol is vodka."

And it did!
The pure alcohol altered antifreeze chemicals and allowed them to be flushed out of little Charlie's body.
"He was definitely drunk. He was stumbling around, I’d go to pat him and he’d push me away like a normal drunk person, he was vomiting a little, whining like a drunk," his owner Rosewarne said.
