In March of this year, the country bid farewell to a true broadcasting legend, as Tony Fenton lost his battle with cancer. On May 14th, an evening of music and comedy was held in Dublin’s Vicar Street in memory of the late great Tony. 'All The Young Dudes' saw Ham Sandwich, Aslan, Something Happens, The Stunning, Delorentos, Wallis Bird, Mick Flannery, Gavin Glass, Dermot Whelan and Mario Rosenstock among others, take to the stage to celebrate his life. 'The Dude' was renowned for his support of Irish music and every act performing on the night had previously appeared on The Tony Fenton Show on Today FM. In the aftermath of his death, friends and colleagues of the radio giant shared stories and tales of 'The Dude'. An outpouring of grief at the passing of one of the country's most iconic voices came from every corner of the globe. The magic of 'All The Young Dudes' was caught on camera by the exceptionally talented music documentary maker, Myles O'Reilly. Edited into just 44-minutes, Myles captured the essence of what 'The Dude' lived for in a truly touching and emotional tribute. "You're more consistent than U2..." The footage closes with an audio clip from Tony's last ever interview with U2 frontman, Bono. A special screening of the documentary took place during the summer in Dublin's Lighthouse Cinema and on St. Stephen's Night, TV3 aired it exclusively. It has now been made available for viewing on Myles' website.
