Time travel, existential doom and '80s fashion? We're in.
The second season of Netflix's Emmy-Award winning series Russian Doll is finally on the way and if you thought season one was crazy - get ready.
After a long three-year wait, the comedy-drama returns later this month for more time travel chaos.
The series focuses around Nadia (Natasha Lyonne), a woman who keeps waking up on her 36th birthday, stuck in an endless Groundhog Day style loop. Every day, she dies repeatedly only to find herself back at a specific moment during her birthday party.
As she desperately tries to figure out what is going on, she meets Alan (Charlie Barnett) who is going through the exact same thing.
This season, Nadia and Alan have escaped the endless day - but time is not done messing with them.
However, things are a little different now. In the trailer, we see the two characters hop on a train ride that somehow ends up taking them through a portal straight to the past, with Nadia arriving in ‘80s New York City and Alan stepping out into Germany in the ‘60s.
“The universe finally found something worse than death,” Nadia says. "I broke time."
Dubbing herself a "time prisoner", Nadia once again embarks on a trippy mind-bending journey to find her way back to normality.
The season's official synopsis reads: “Discovering a fate even worse than endless death, this season finds Nadia and Alan delving deeper into their pasts through an unexpected time portal located in one of Manhattan’s most notorious locations, the New York City subway.
“At first they experience this as an ever-expanding, era-spanning, intergenerational adventure, but they soon discover this extraordinary event might be more than they bargained for and, together, must search for a way out.”
Russian Doll Season 2 premieres April 20 on Netflix.
