They captured the hearts of the nation on Republic Of Telly and now Bridget and Eamon are getting their very own show.
Sketches featuring the 1980s couple have been one of the major successes of the RTÉ comedy series and Irish audiences will be seeing a lot more of them, with confirmation that a sitcom is currently in development.
Jennifer Maguire, who plays Bridget, spilled the beans to The Herald this week, revealing that she and co-star Bernard O'Shea are writing material at the moment.
"A few of us are writing the sitcom. It's had more than a million hits on YouTube. We have that in development at the moment but we can't really say too much about it, though there might be some exciting news by the end of the year," she said.
"We're excited about that because they are characters we've done for a couple of years and people love them. Bernard and I are writing it with some other people - we can't get away from each other. We love working together, even if we kill each other sometimes."
Maguire recently returned to work at 2FM following the birth of her first child, Florence, with husband Lau Zamperelli.
