Apart from the reassurance that first dates are actually as awkward for everyone else as they are for you, part of the beauty of First Dates Ireland is that the outcome of the dates is often far from what you would have expected.
And so it went on Thursday night for Aidan, who was trying his best to impress his date Lucy, but was having to pull out all the stops to do so.
Aidan most definitely had the support of the watching audience on social media and looked to have done enough to secure a second date come the end of the show, only to be let down in brutal fashion.
Aidan couldn't quite believe it and neither could anyone else...

Credit to Aidan though, he didn’t let it get to him and though his response to said rejection was quite crude, it endeared him even further to his new fanbase.

Lucy might not have granted him a second date, but he could be a popular man in the coming weeks after that performance.
