When asked if the adaptation would include social media, Fey responded with the question "The thing is with social media is that it doesn't dramatise well?", which we will take as a strong maybe, leaning towards a no.
We can't imagine Cady Heron and Regina George using anything other than 2004-era technology, so Blackberries and pagers will be as far as it may go.
