TikTok has birthed some pretty creative DIY beauty hacks over the years - remember fake tan lip liner?  But the latest hack to go viral is unexpected, to say the least. People are now using lube as make-up primer. Yes, lube. TikTokers are putting the product on their faces before applying foundation. Some are even mixing it with their foundation for that extra-dewy look. The hashtag #LubePrimer already has over 9.5 million views on the social media app and opinions are mixed. But according to users who have tried it, the lube gets tacky and grippy, making it a perfect base for makeup. Make-up artist @seananthonyv gave the hack a rave review in a video of himself trying it out. https://www.instagram.com/p/CUxxVVvgY5H/ In the video, Sean is initially hesitant - and a little squeamish - as he rubs the lube all over his face, but soon changes his tone. “Look at this glow that it’s giving me. Okay, I am definitely here for this glow, are you kidding? Tell me why this is performing better than my regular primer.” He then proceeds to do a full face of make-up and is shocked at the result. “My make-up looks so good. I’m absolutely speechless." Are they gonna destroy your skin? "But then when I was thinking about it, I was like, if it’s gonna be shoved up there where the sun doesn’t shine, the ingredients probably aren’t too shabby. "I looked at the ingredient list and found that it has propylene glycol, hydroxyethyl cellulose, benzoic acid, and sodium hydroxide - ingredients you find in most skincare products. "So, is it bad for your skin? Not really. Can you use it? Yeah. Should you use it? That’s a whole other question.” It really is a whole other question. While it’s hard to argue with the gorgeous dewy and glowy result, we probably won’t be trying this one any time soon!
