Not long to wait now.

If like us, you were left a complete emotional mess at the end of This Is Us season one, then you’ll be delighted to know that the show has been renewed for a second AND third season. Yes, there's plenty more story to tell and here’s all the information we have so far about what’s to come for the Pearsons.  

Plot

Season two is set to delve much deeper into the lives of the lovable family. We’ll be learning a lot more about Jack’s death pretty early on as a big clue is said to be revealed in episode one. In the past, the show will pick up the day after Jack and Rebecca’s big fight and the season will document the couple as they try to navigate through a rough patch. In the present time, the show is set to take a bit of a time jump – a few months in fact. Randall and Beth are looking into the adoption Randall proposed at the end of the last season. Speaking of Beth, we’ll be learning a lot more about her character next season too, with more information from her past coming to light. Kate is set to explore her voice a bit more and will be stepping out of her brother’s shadows to become her own star. Kevin is going to be working on his relationship with his ex-wife Sophie. However, there is a big career opportunity on the horizon as he prepares to star in a movie with Sylvester Stallone. Yes, Sylvester Stallone is set to play himself next season. We’ll also be seeing a lot more of older Rebecca this season and how her relationship is with her three grown children.  

Cast

All our favourites from last season are returning this year with a few recurring characters being bumped to season regulars - including Jon Huertas who plays Miguel and all of the child actors who play the Big 3. Dan Fogelman who plays William will be making a return despite his tragic death at the end of the first season. Dan Lauria and Debra Jo Rupp are also rumoured to be joining the show next season, although little information is known about their characters as of yet.  

Premiere

The show is set to return to US screens on September 26, so not long to wait until we’ll get a glimpse.
