The Crown has had plenty of us glued to our TV screens thanks to brilliant writing and marvellous acting.

Thirty-three-year-old actress, Claire Foy, currently plays the young queen, depicting the time in which she marries Prince Philip and starts a family. Might we add, we LOVE her in it. So, no surprise she nabbed herself a Golden Globe for the first series!

But now, there’s set to be a brand-new face – Olivia Coleman. Coleman is lined up to portray Queen Elizabeth during her more mature years and we’re sure she’ll be fantastic. The forty-three -year-old actress will begin filming her first ten episodes next year, so we won’t have the pleasure of seeing her depiction of the Queen until 2019. Coleman isn’t without a Golden Globe either – this year she was awarded for her role as Angela Burr in The Night Manager. It’s not her first time playing a royal either. Back in the day, Olivia played the Queens mother in the film Hyde Park On Hudson, AND she plays Queen Anne in The Favourite alongside Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz. Yes, we’re name dropping. If you’d like to see Olivia doing what she does best before she steps into the role of Queen, she stars alongside Judi Dench in the new film Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient Express. Series two of The Crown will be back on Netflix this December and... it’s set to be even more exciting and scandalous than the last. *wink face*
