Game Of Thrones has left us massively hanging after a gripping climax to season six. Cersei Lannister is sitting on the Iron Throne after the ultimate act of murderous revenge, Jon Snow is King in the North, and Daenerys Targaryen is heading across the sea with an armada and some massive dragons. And then it fucking ends. Fans of the show are climbing the walls, clamouring for more. Something to cling to. Anything. If you're chalking off the days until next April when Season Seven was set to air then you're going to be more disappointed than Tyrion Lannister at a temperance bar. You're going to have to wait a fair bit longer than the standard nine months for the next instalment of the epic HBO fantasy series. Game Of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss have come along and pissed on everyone's bonfire - and just as we were about to start getting used to life without GoT for the next few months. It looks like the show will now not be aired until autumn of 2017 - but Benioff and Weiss have a very good reason for it. "We don’t have an air date yet, but this year will probably be a little bit later," they said, speaking on UFC Unfilitered’s podcast. "We’re starting a bit later because at the end of this season, 'Winter is here' – and that means that sunny weather doesn’t really serve our purposes any more. So we kind of pushed everything down the line, so we could get some grim grey weather even in the sunnier places that we shoot." If the fact wasn't bad enough that we're going to have to wait more than a year to see what the fuck happens in Westeros, it comes after we found out there are only going to be a handful of episodes to go at. The showrunners confirmed last week that there are only 13 episodes left to come from the final two series - seven and eight, respectively. Life is so cruel.
