The Good Wife might be getting its second wind in the form of a spinoff show.
The show is set to centre around Christine Baranksi's character, senior litigation lawyer Diane Lockhart.
Fans of the show will know that Lockhart played a mentor and boss role for Alicia Florrick, the
Good Wife's main character.
British actress Cush Jumbo, who played Lucca Quinn and joined the show in the seventh and final season is expected to star in the upcoming project also.
The untitled project, which
Good Wife showrunner duo Michelle and Robert King will head as executive producers, giving it the same tense competitive vibe that attracted so many fans to
The Good Wife. NICE.
According to
Variety:
“A Good Wife spinoff with Baranski would be another marquee property to help drive subscriptions to the service, which sells for $6 a month. Sending the spinoff to All Access rather than the mothership network is a sign of CBS’ determination to invest in All Access as a distinct programming platform. CBS Corp. chairman-CEO Leslie Moonves has said the goal is to have three to four original series airing on CBS All Access every year.”
Deadly buzz! Baranski is one of the best actresses around these days so we're sure this new spin-off won't let us down.
The show is set to air on
CBS All Access however, there's no launch date confirmed as of yet.
