The series was renewed for a seventh and final season, making it one of the longest running Netflix series. The series kicked off back in 2015 and has since been nominated for several Emmys, a handful of GLAADs, and even a Golden Globe. Fonda and Tomlin said that they were "delighted and heartbroken" that the show has reached its seventh and final season. "We’re so grateful that our show has been able to deal with issues that have really connected to our grand generation," they said. "And their kids, and amazingly, their kids as well." "We’ll miss these two old gals, Grace and Frankie, as much as many of their fans will, but we’ll still be around.
