The more Stacey, the better!

The mum-of-five is the host of BBC's Sort Your Life Out, a show which caught the eye of Reese Witherspoon’s production company.

The crossover of the two women has resulted in Stacey lending her talents to the upcoming series, Renovation Rescue.

 “I was genuinely like, ‘How does she [Reese Witherspoon] even know me?’ I still to this day don’t know how they found me," she told the DailyMail.

“They just said they wanted me. Maybe some of her researchers and her team had seen the show. Well, they would have had to, I guess, to know anything about me.

“I haven’t actually met her. She wrote a message to say how excited she is and we’re hoping to FaceTime her on the day the show goes out.”

The show will follow the stories of homeowners who have had their homes abandoned by builders, leaving them with ruined and unfinished houses.

The series is set to be an emotional one as the media personality admitted seeing their devastation makes her want to 'cry with them'.

"They've spent their life savings. The people who were doing the work for them have just upped and left," Stacey told the outlet.

The presenter says trust is built between homeowners and builders and when it's broken, 'it's a shock to the system' and a new trauma that the same could happen again elsewhere in their lives.

Renovation Rescue will see Stacey help to heal that trauma and rebuild the homeowner's trust once more.

"I tell them, ‘I totally understand why you’re so nervous about doing this again, you’ve been through such a horrible time.

"I watch the tension come out of their shoulders: Finally someone is listening to them, they’re being understood and validated.

"They don’t feel like idiots any more."

While the mum, who is known for her DIY hacks, will be leading the show, she reassured that there will be professionals on hand for the building side of things.

"Don’t get me wrong, there are always going to be jobs where the professionals are needed. I can’t build a house myself."

The heartbreaking experience of being scammed is something that Stacey sadly knows all too well.

The experience, however, makes Stacey all the more equipped to take on the new series.

“Years ago in a previous home, my husband and I wanted to turn our shed into a mini office. We paid half the money upfront, they came in and built three-quarters of a brick wall," she confessed.

“We never saw them again. There’s nothing you can do. You think, ‘God, how could I be so stupid?’ I’m not stupid. I’m a bright girl.

“It’s not about losing the money, it’s the psychological impact because you lose trust, self-worth,” she explained.
