Sky has just released its Christmas advert for 2020 and well, John Lewis has some serious competition this year.
In this sweet two minute advert we see E.T and Elliot reunite 37 years on. Following the same line as the hit 1982 film, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, this advert sees E.T return to Earth after being parted from his childhood friend for almost four decades.
It starts by us seeing Elliot's kids in the garden when they scream after spotting E.T behind a snowman. Calling for their dad, Elliot heads to the garden to find E.T there.
"You came back?!" he cries. We cry.
But after spending the day with Elliot's family, you guessed it, E.T had to go home. Anyone else say home in his voice just there?
Just us? OK.
But yes, the only way to send E.T home again was up, up and away into the sky as Sky cleverly play the hit track from the film bringing back all the nostalgia.
You can watch the advert below.
Since its release, fans are praising the advert as one of the best Christmas ones yet and we couldn't agree more.
Sky’s UK and Ireland CEO explained:
"It’s an honour to bring E.T. back to Earth in this new festive short story, helping us to celebrate the magic of family time at Christmas and Sky’s part in bringing our customers together at this special time of year."
