The sixth season of Brooklyn Nine-Nine was the first to air on NBC. It was originally cancelled by Fox on May 10, 2018, only to be picked up by NBC the following day for an 18-episode season. Season seven of Brooklyn Nine-Nine is currently airing in North America, with Oscar-winner J.K. Simmons set to guest star in one of the episodes. According to Entertainment Weekly, the actor will star as Detective Dillman - one of Capt. Holt's former colleagues at the NYPD - who comes into the Nine-Nine after a prank in the precinct goes wrong. Holt enlists his old pal (the best detective that he has ever known) to try and solve the mystery of the whodunnit.
