The highly-anticipated second season of Netflix's Cheer lands on the streaming platform tomorrow.
The documentary series follows a group of cheerleaders on the Bulldogs Team at Navarro College in Corsicana, Texas, and gained a huge following just before the pandemic.
The first season focused on cheerleaders Morgan Simianer, Lexi Brumback, Gabi Butler, La'Darius Marshall and their coach Monica Aldama as they made the team and competed at the college cheerleading championship. The second season, however, will catch up with the show's cast members as they adjust to their newfound fame while continuing to cheerlead.
Season two will also address the case of former cast member Jerry Harris, who was arrested last year following allegations that he produced child abuse materials.
Harris pleaded not guilty to the charges, though if convicted he could face up to 30 years in prison.
Addressing the allegations in the trailer for season 2, Monica says: "I can't even process it right now."
Elsewhere in the trailer, we finally get a better insight into Navarro's number one rival, Trinity Valley.
A member of their team tells the camera: "If Navarro slips up this year, Trinity Valley is right there to snatch the title from them."
Their head-coach Vontae Johnson says: "Don't come to the Valley just because you want to be famous. Come because you want to be the best."
As the camera sweeps to defending champ Monica, a Trinity Valley team member says: "We're used to the David and Goliath thing. But Goliath is looking awfully big right now."
Meanwhile, Monica tells viewers: "I don't need to win any more trophies. But I do want to be the best."
The trailer also introduces us to a brand new cheer star, tumbler Angel Rice, who is described as the "Simone Biles of cheerleading".
Season two of Cheer is available to watch on Netflix from tomorrow.
