Another step on the road to an Oscar for the Irish-Ethiopian actress?
Ruth Negga has been nominated in the 'Rising Star' category at this year's BAFTA Awards.
The actress stars with Joel Edgerton in the upcoming Loving, and has been tipped for a potential Academy Award nomination for her role in the drama.
"I can't wait for the ceremony in London," she said, adding that the nomination was "surreal."
Former Love/Hate star Negga has been nominated along with Tom Holland (Spider-Man), Laia Costa (Victoria), Lucas Hedges (Manchester by the Sea) and Anya Taylor-Joy (The Witch).
Loving will arrive in Irish cinemas on 3 February, while the BAFTAs take place on 12 February.
