The programme was originally commissioned to mark Prince Phillip's 100th birthday, but he passed away two months shy of it.
Prince Charles also spoke about his late father, and how they had discussed plans for his big 100th birthday.
The conversations to make plans ended up being the last the father and son would have, as he died in April.
But while there were some sad moments, the royal grandchildren did recall a prank that Phillip liked to play on them.
Prince William said: "He used to take the lid off and put it in your hands… and then he’d squish your hands together to fire the mustard on the ceiling.
Princess Anne's daughter Zara Tindall added: "I can’t remember exactly what he says but he ends up slamming your hands together… it goes all over the ceiling."
