Love Island has just broken its record for the most complaints coming from one episode ever, and it's all to do with Faye in Friday's episode. Receiving a whopping 24,763 complaints to the broadcasting regulator Ofcom, Faye's reaction clearly upset a lot more people than we initially thought. The previous record for the series' amount of complaints was over 4,000 after the postcard arrived at the Love Island villa from the boys at Casa Amor. But a lot has changed after Friday's episode when the high influx of complaints rolled in along with huge controversy on social media, with fans quickly discussing how Faye went about her feelings. After the movie night showed clips of what the boys really got up to in Casa Amor, Faye was not a bit impressed when she learned that Teddy had a sexual attraction to Clarisse. Seeing red, Faye couldn't hold back her emotions and proceeded to scream the villa down, cursing and calling names at Teddy and any of the other boys that tried to calm her down. Feeling lied to and betrayed by not only Teddy, but also by Jake who egged the lads on, and Dale who pulled her for a chat which only seemed to make Faye more furious. After the incident, the complaints about her outburst was enough to put viewers off, with 675 complaints the night before and 298 and 93 on Saturday and Sunday, respectively, in comparison. An Ofcom spokesperson told The Mirror: "We’ve received a high volume of complaints about last week’s Love Island, which is consistent with a trend of growing complaints about high-profile TV shows. "We are carefully assessing the complaints we’ve received, before deciding whether or not to investigate." Many of the complaints revolved around concerns for both Faye and Teddy's well-being and mental health, with many bringing the duty of care into question. A spokesperson for ITV previously told The Mirror: "Welfare and duty of care towards our contributors is always our primary concern, and we take the emotional well-being of all the Islanders extremely seriously. "We have dedicated welfare producers and psychological support on hand at all times who monitor and regularly speak to all of the Islanders in private and off camera, especially if someone appears to be upset." While the incident upset and concerned fans, Faye has since made her apology and admitted that her behaviour was not okay, which was good enough for Teddy.
