The series is about the disappearance of a teenage girl in Vatican City.
A new Netflix true crime documentary about a decades-long missing persons case will premiere on the streaming service this month.
Titled Vatican Girl: The Disappearance of Emanuela Orlandi, the four-part series will explore the case of Ms Orlandi, a 15-year-old girl living in Vatican City who disappeared under mysterious circumstances in 1983.
The unsolved case has been reported on around the world and has gripped the nation of Italy for 39 years.
Directed by Mark Lewis, who made Netflix's Don’t F**k with Cats, Vatican Girl is said to be the first documentary series that weaves together the many numerous theories surrounding Ms Orlandi's disappearance.
"The series tells a gripping story of murder and intrigue through a mix of archive and interviews: many people speaking for the first time, including members of the Orlandi family," its plot synopsis reads.
"Over four episodes, witnesses paint a picture of a dark web of secrets kept hidden at any cost."
The series will feature interviews with Emanuela’s brother, Pietro Orlandi, as well as the Italian journalist Andrea Purgatori who has covered the case from the beginning.
Vatican Girl premieres on Netflix on 20 October and you can watch the trailer for the documentary series below.
