The Midnight Club is available on Netflix now
A new Netflix
horror series has set a Guinness World Record for the most jump scares in a single episode and is so terrifying you'll barely be able to stay on the couch to watch it.
The Midnight Club drops on Netflix on Friday, providing horror fans with a spooky lead-up to Halloween.

The series, from the creator of
The Haunting of Hill House and
Midnight Mass, centres around a group of terminally ill young adults at Brightcliffe Hospice. The patients meet up at, you guessed it, midnight, to share scary stories with each other.
One night, the friends make a pact that whoever dies first must try and communicate with the others from beyond the grave - but when one of them does die, things get wild.
The series is based on the 1994 novel of the same name as well as other works by Christopher Pike and has set a record for the most scares in a single episode - 21.
But, oddly, the shock tactic, isn't something creator Mike Flanagan is fond of.
He told fans during the show's New York Comic Con panel: “My whole career I completely s**t on jump scares as a concept, and I wanted to make sure it was pinned to me, too, as much as it is to the show, to Netflix, and all of us who have inflicted this on everyone.
“Now, I have my name in the Guinness Book of World Records for jump scares, which means next time I get the note, I can say, ‘You know, as the current world record holder for jump scares, I don’t think we need one here.’”
Given the series only dropped on Netflix today, some horror fans have already had the time to dive into a few episodes.
One wrote: “Two episodes into The Midnight Club and it feels a little like an adult version of Are You Afraid of the Dark? in the best of ways.”
Another said: “Might just cancel all my plans for the next 10 hours to watch The Midnight Club.”
A third added: “So far, @flanaganfilm has never 'missed' with any of his horror shows, so I'm about to start The Midnight Club with an optimal level of hype.”
While someone else commented: “Watching The Midnight Club as if I didn't know it has 21 jump scares.”
