Coming to the screens very soon, the show stars one of the leads of Love/Hate.

Coming to screens next month, the six-part show is written and directed by the acclaimed Irish filmmaker John Butler (Handsome Devil, The Stag).

Tom Vaughan-Lawlor in These Sacred Vows

The comedy-drama opens the morning after an Irish wedding on the Spanish island of Tenerife, when the body of a priest is found floating face-down in the swimming pool of the young guests’ villa.

“Over the course of six episodes, the action jumps back in time to revisit the key events of a wild previous week, each from the perspective of a different character,” the plot synopsis reads.

Vaughan-Lawlor plays Fr. Vincent in These Sacred Vows, leading an ensemble cast full of Irish talent.

This includes Adam John Richardson (The Dry), Aoife Hinds (Saipan), Aaron Heffernan (Bring Them Down), Catherine Bohart (LOL: Last One Laughing Ireland), India Mullen (Normal People), Isolt McCaffrey (The Cured), Jason O’Mara (The Siege of Jadotville), Justine Mitchell (Smother), Mark O’Halloran (Adam & Paul) and Shane Daniel Byrne (Good Boy).

Like the recent underrated Channel 4 series Summerwater, the RTÉ show’s premise – focusing on the simmering tensions amongst a group of holidayers as they boil over with shocking, tragic consequences – has drawn comparisons to the HBO hit The White Lotus.

These Sacred Vows will debut on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player on Sunday, 1 February 2026.
