Anyone remember concerts? Anyone?

Now, I don't want you all to get too excited but maybe, just maybe, festivals and gigs could happen next year - and you could be at them. Imagine going to a gig next year, standing and listening to music with people actually next to you, singing along to your favourite song. It sounds like a distant memory, but it's also a dream for the future. There's been a huge hole left our hearts and lives over the last year with no live music, no festivals, and very few events. However, recent reports have suggested that gigs might be able to come back if attendees can prove that they have received the Covid-19 vaccine, or taken a recent Covid test, before going to to see any live show. Ticketmaster president Mark Yovich recently told Billboard that in the UK, many private healthcare providers are willing to work with promoters to make gigs become a reality again. He said: “We’re already seeing many third-party health care providers prepare to handle the vetting – whether that is getting a vaccine, taking a test, or other methods of review and approval – which could then be linked via a digital ticket so everyone entering the event is verified.” They seem to be trying out many different ways to get the events industry back on track. “Ticketmaster’s goal is to provide enough flexibility and options that venues and fans have multiple paths to return to events," he said. According to him, they are "working to create integrations to our API and leading digital ticketing technology as we will look to tap into the top solutions based on what’s green-lit by officials and desired by clients.” As it stands, gigs of any kind certainly will not be permitted this side of lockdown. But hey, who knows what the next few months will bring.
