She's ditching the white wedding dress.

Muireann O'Connell has revealed some plans for what she'll be wearing on her big day. The TV presenter announced her engagement to her long-term boyfriend live on Ireland AM last month, alongside her co-hosts Alan Hughes and Tommy Bowe. And while she hasn't started planning the wedding just yet, one things for sure, she's not too keen on the traditional style of wedding dress. "When you go back to Eleanor of Aquitaine times, the dress wasn’t a white one, it was red. I think if I wore white I’d just spill something on it," she told RSVP magazine. "I love the idea of someone getting a dress that they adore, dyeing it afterward, and then wearing it again. I don’t want to have a wedding dress that I’d only wear once. The bride-to-be added that if she has bridesmaids, she won’t be choosing bridesmaid dresses for them either and they can buy something that they’d like to wear instead. https://www.instagram.com/p/CWp12iCsGXM/?utm_source=ig_embed Muireann recently spoke out about feeling "guilt" for testing positive for Covid and not being able to spend time with family on the first Christmas since her father passed. "Have been in isolation for the past few days and just had a confirmed PCR," she told her followers on Instagram. "The guilt is overwhelming. It's bad enough thinking about having given this to someone, but at Christmas, it's horrendous. Not only that, but this is our first Christmas without Dad and I feel like the worst daughter. "It was always going to be shit but just being there would at least have been something. I was most looking forward to sitting in his chair with a mug of tea, watching his fav, The Quiet Man, whilst Marie played bridge on her iPad. "I feel like I've failed them and it's gonna be hard to make up for this." On Tuesday, Muireann's co-star and former rugby player Tommy Bowe confirmed he had also contracted Covid and would be taking a short break away from Ireland AM.
