Of all the drama on this year's Love Island, one of the stand-out moments was Maura and Tom's epic row.

Who could forget how he fudged his chance at a night in the Hideaway with a throwaway comment to the lads? The couple had been given the keys to the villa's luxury private bedroom but just as they were getting ready to leave, Maura overheard Tom wondering aloud whether she was "all mouth" - i.e. whether she'd ride him or not - to the boys. Naturally, she was furious and refused to spend the night with him. "Are you f**king joking?!" she spluttered at him as he tried to defend himself and smooth things over. It was a moment of pure telly gold that cemented Maura, who had been talking openly about sex for weeks, as a fan favourite and something of a feminist icon. But Tom, who was dumped from the villa not long after, has said that there was more to their conversation than what viewers saw. Maura had brought up the topic of having sex herself when it was announced that the Hideaway was open, he told The Sun.

"She said when the text came through: 'Someone's going to get frisky'. "That was the build-up to it. Michael had said: 'I wonder if she's all mouth' and I just repeated it. It was thinking out loud rather than throwing it at her."

He and Maura got on well and had good banter, he continued, so he was surprised that the comment got to her.

"It was tongue-in-cheek. I didn't expect anything from the Hideaway. "I wasn't going in hoping for a wild night of sex. She took it so literally and got so offended, I was quite shocked."
