The Love Island reunion was not well-received on social media, and Whitmore has since responded to some of the backlash.
On her Instagram stories, the presenter responded to a DM, which accused her of asking "invasive questions".
Whitmore then said that the islanders see the questions before they go on air.
She wrote: "I believe in choice, so nothing is ever asked without permission.
"I only ask questions that are pre approved by the compliance division.
"A lot of meetings happen before I see the script and then I can add my voice."
Laura also addressed fans who asked why Kaz and Tyler were interviewed from their table, rather than the main couch.
Addressing this, Laura said: "We invited Kaz to sit with Toby for his exes segment but she didn't want to and it's her choice to make.
