After being rumoured all weekend, Love Island has officially confirmed the first ever deaf contestant is heading into the villa. Tasha Ghouri, a 23 year old dancer, is set to be the first ever deaf contestant, wearing a cochlear implant which helps with her hearing loss. Natasha has previously done modelling work for Asos where, last year, she was seen in a campaign that showed the medical device in an earring ad. Speaking ahead of her time in looking for love, Tasha said: "I was in articles worldwide last year, because I was modelling for a brand and my [cochlear] implant went viral on Twitter. "I’m the type of person to put others before me." Ahead of her appearance, she's looking for one thing, she is "ready to get to know someone, go on holidays and travel with them." When it comes to her icks, something very important when it comes to the world of Love Island, she said: "If I see a guy legging it to the train, it gives me the ick!" At the time of her viral Asos shoot, she wrote: "MY HEART IS FULL RIGHT NOW! Thanks so much for all of your kind messages WOW. It may just be an ear but it means so much more – like what @rnid_uk said representation matters, and I’m bloody proud to represent my community. "Biggest love to @asos for welcoming me in and breaking boundaries as this will really help and inspire people out there.
