As 12 Islanders from series gone by returned to the show for another chance at love, viewers welcomed the 'messy' twist that came with it.
'Love Island: All Stars' saw 12 contestants from seasons one to 10 reclaim their place in the villa, with episode one already bringing the drama.
In a cruel twist of fate, the public reunited exes Liberty Poole and Jake Cornish as a couple, as well as some fresh and interesting pairings.
It seems Jake himself also has taken issue with the public's choice as its been reported that he has already left the villa.
A source told The Sun the 26-year-old was blindsided to find his ex in the South African villa.
“Jake was really shocked to see Liberty in the villa – they had no idea the other person would be there.
"It was clear from the start they wouldn’t get back together, then none of the girls wanted to step forward for him," the source continued.
“Jake had a nice three days in the villa and had a very emotional chat to Maya Jama.
“Jake couldn’t stay in the villa so he quit the show – it’s not his time and it’s not the right time to find love.”

That is, until the twist that saw the return of exes Callum Jones and Molly Smyth, who met on series six of Love Island.
The shock reveal of the exes, who were together for three years after their stint on the show in 2020, got viewers up out of their seats and confirmed that producers are not holding back for the spin-off series.
Callum was tasked with choosing between one of the female Islanders already in a couple or reuniting with his ex-girlfriend, leaving the show on the ultimate cliffhanger.
Such nail-biters have been lacking from the reality dating show in recent years, with many viewers believing show bosses have more creative freedom with contestants who are already in the public eye.
The opening episode of 'Love Island: All Stars' may have just shown that we are in for five weeks of drama, twists, and shocks.
