Friday night’s Late Late Show will be a treat for anyone who went to France last summer

The world's eyes might be on Trump's inauguration, but if you fancy something that's a bit different, there's bound to be plenty of entertainment on The Late Late Show. Republic of Ireland manager Martin O’Neill will be joining Ryan Tubridy tonight. It was a memorable summer for the Boys in Green. We all know what happened in France and the match against Italy in Lille will stay in the minds of Irish supporters forever. Despite elimination to France, Ireland have regrouped and currently sit at the top of their World Cup qualification group. Christy Dignam will also be on the show. The Aslan singer drew huge praise for his recent appearance on The Tommy Tiernan Show and he's always a very honest, engaging and entertaining voice. The Late Late Show will celebrate Finbar Furey’s 70th year with a host of celebrity guests and special performances this Friday. With a career dating back to the 1960s and that has taken him all over the world, Furey is one of Ireland’s most beloved musicians. He will be joining Tubridy to discuss a long and varied career that has seen him do everything from perform on Top of the Pops to appearing in Martin Scorsese’s Gangs of New York. Also on the show will be actor Patrick Bergin. His performance in Sleeping with the Enemy is still incredibly unsettling, but as many of you will know, he's back on our screens in TV3's critically acclaimed drama Red Rock. Comedian Oliver Callan will join Tubridy to make the presidential address that Trump secretly wanted to deliver. Supermac's founder Pat McDonagh will be telling us how he turned the humble Irish chipper into a €116 million business. We'll also be getting the latest on his legal battle with global fast food giant McDonald's. Transgender teen David Beattie is in the midst of transitioning to female – though still identifying as David - and will be on the Late Late to chat about how watching a Caitlyn Jenner documentary helped him realise his true self. And finally, after time constraints meant she couldn’t perform last week, harpist Lisa Canny will be back with a very special performance.
