Lin-Manuel Miranda has released a never before heard Hamilton song.

The creator of the hit musical took to Twitter earlier this week, telling fans how he wishes he "could send you peace of mind via this app" - acknowledging that while he couldn't, he "can send you music no one's heard." Not even the show's director Thomas Kail. The demo of the song, I Have This Friend, features Alexander Hamilton going to President George Washington for advice about a scandal about to break.

And while it was cut from the show, Miranda later revealed that it was meant to go before The Reynolds Pamphlet - and that he had used the end of the song for Hurricane, which made it into the show. “Wish I could send you peace of mind via this app,” he said. “Alas. But I can send you music no one’s heard. Here’s a cut Hamilton/Washington tune called ‘I Have This Friend.’ “No one’s heard it, not even Kail.” The actor is singing both parts on the song, but told his Twitter users that it was "funnier" if they pictured him and Christopher Jackson (the actor who originated the role of Washington on Broadway) singing it together.
