Tomorrow, a very special edition of the Late Late Show will air as the programme raises some much needed-funds for the Irish Cancer Society. RTE have released the full line-up for the Daffodil Day Special, and it looks stellar. Earlier this week, we reported that Ireland's favourite twins Jedward will make an appearance on the Late Late. Crucially, the pop duo will say goodbye to their iconic tresses and shave off their hair for an excellent cause. But wait, there's more. Westlife heartthrob Shane Filan will also be joining Ryan Tubridy on the couch, as well as Cavan footballer Oisin Kiernan. Shane will talk to Ryan about his family's experience with cancer. The singer sadly lost both of his parents to the disease within the space of ten months. Oisin Kiernan, meanwhile, will chat about his diagnosis and treatment of testicular cancer. The footballer will also share his advice to young men. On top of that, Inhaler will perform their latest track Cheer Up Baby. Daffodil Day is usually celebrated in-person up and down the country, but this year things are a little different. With Level 5 restrictions in place, the Late Late Show is backing the initiative as live events cannot go ahead. The money raised from tomorrow night's broadcast will fund the Irish Cancer's Society nursing services, support lines, free counselling services for friends and family, and the 13 Daffodil Centres in hospitals across Ireland. Just days ago, Jedward spoke about their excitement ahead of tomorrow night's show. "We are shaving our quiffs off to support the fighting heroes going through cancer," they said. "We're hopeful the funds raised will contribute to a cancer free future." They continued: "We are honouring the memory of all those who have come and gone, we are sending strength and love to all those suffering." In February 2019, the twins lost their mother, Susanna, after a long battle with cancer. They added: "It's heart-breaking that all our loved ones aren't with us, but they will be looking down on us from heaven." The Late Late Show will air this Friday evening on RTE One at 9:35 PM.
